Tennis In Venice

<--Practice Session for Italy!!!

So she'll probably kill me for posting this video but I don't care...who, except for Holly gets to go to a foreign country and get paid to play a sport? Actually, I know a few other people, but our sport doesn't rhyme with the city we play in, which makes it a lot cooler. Besides being jealous that I couldn't update the "Where I've Been" application on Facebook, the weather is supposed is supposed to be 85 and Sunny the three days she's there. The only bummer is that she's going to miss our third playoff game but I promised her a W...we're trying to get back on track after we let Game 2 slip away but sometimes shit happens, just ask the Orlando Magic. Look out for the Game 3 highlights and Tennis in Venice wrap-up

Playoff Trash Talking

I have never been the vocal guy on the court...when I was the captain of the NYU team and I had to be vocal, I still had my boy Mike as the other captain, not to mention the other three "Senior Leaders" to say what needed to be said...I have always been a "lead by example" kinda guy.

In either case, at some point everyone reaches their limits. Since this whole Playoff thing is still new to me, I never realized how frustrating it is to play against the same team more than one game in a row. In Game 2 there is going to be a hell of whole lot more trash talking, kinda like Kobe and Artest...just a lot more gangsta than the Cutting Crew

Playoff Fouls

I've always been a fan of the physical play, the constant banging in the post (pause) the cheap shots and the elbows are all fair game where I'm from. I think it came from the constant beating I received as a child on the basketball court compliments of Greg Boone. In either case, I've learned, or am in the process of learning, how to keep the physical play in check for the betterment of the team. But I quickly learned, in my first ever Playoff game, physicality is going to win it for us. After being undercut while going for a rebound, and purposely elbowed in the mouth, you better believe, if I foul out of the next game, they will be on 5 "Playoff Fouls."

Playoff Time

Picked...to finish 14th miss the Playoffs and barely stay in the league

That's the kind of motivation Gottingen has used to open eyes all season long. Our unconventional style of basketball, which has been dubbed "40 Minutes of Hell" is about to really be tested. This, best of 5, series against Brose Baskets Bamberg marks the first time Gottingen has made the BBL Playoffs and on Friday May 15, 2009 their first game can be seen Live on Eurosport and Live online.

Hottest Couples Out There

Not to toot our own horn or anything...alright maybe just a little...

But check this...during our time in Paris, Holly and I decided to take a few breaks during the day to sit down and "people watch." We expected to see a lot of couples walking around in the City of Love and weren't surprised by the flock of lovebirds we saw flying around.

However, the break soon became a challenge. And the challenge was to find a couple who, top-to-bottom, was better looking than us. The search lasted the final 2 days of our trip and we weren't able to find a single one...but before we deem ourselves the hottest couple in the world, we did a bit of celebrity searching and came up with the 3 that can rival us...here they go

#3 Robin Thicke & Paula Patton (B+)

#2 Gabriel Aubry & Halle Berry (A-)

#1 Reggie Bush & Kim Kardashian (A)

...But nothing compares to us...A+

P A R a d I S e

After two hours at the travel agency, Holly and I finally got our trip finalized. Accommodations and transportation all set up, French phrasebook purchased and tourist attractions mapped out. Now all we have to do is beat Oldenburg (first place team) at their place. If you haven't watched the highlights from that game...go ahead and scroll down to that blog post. Anyway, we took care of business, and we actually left right from the game to the airport for Paris. We got there early Thursday morning and made it through the whole day on 3 hours of sleep (one in the airport, one on the airplane, and one on the bus to the hotel). The first day we saw the Bastille, Notre Dame, One Main Shopping District and the Eiffel Tower. The next day was MayDay and apparently everything was closed, but we did a lot of walking and scoped out our next two days. We were able to see the Parthenon and the Sacred Heart though. Along with the major Opera house and Triumph Arch. The third day we spent the morning at the Louvre, saw the Mona Lisa and Venus De Milo. After that we did a bunch more shopping and tried to get into the Musee D'Orsay but it was closing. We ate at the best restaurant in town and decided to hit the Musee D'Orsay the next day before we left. But apparently, the first Sunday of every month, admission to the museum is free, so the line was outside and around the block. We decided to just go see the Rodin Sculptures (The Thinker) and Napolean's Tomb instead. The trip was off the hook and I'd definitely recommend anyone who can make it to Paris at some point to go, make sure you set aside a lot of money though because you will find your wallet pretty slim if you don't. Speaking of wallets...do you like the new one?
